Eating Disorders

This one really hit me hard. Hilary Pile was one of my really good childhood friends and was also a member of our 2008 graduating class. I saw first hand how anorexia took over her life. It becomes an obsession and than a disease. The effects are horrible. After awhile your body starts to shut down. Many times people with this disease cannot have babies because they are unable to provide the nutrients for the baby. ALso, the body is just not strong enough to carry the child. That is just one of the long term effects. Seizures are also common among people dealing with anorexia. The greatest long term effect is the shutting down of your organs and body. After awhile after so much strain on the heart and oragans your body just gives up. This is what happened to my friend. After six years of intense anorexia, her body could no longer keep up. This just breaks my heart because Hilary was an amazing girl. She inspired with her faith and her goodness. I just hope young girls can learn from this. Anorexia is so serious.

How things are coming

I would have to say that I am doing okay when it comes to my goals. I don't always do what I should be doing but it is always in the back on my mind. I have been really working on my attitude. Wednesdays are my busiest days and on that day I try to be the most positive. I think it has really worked well for me. I need to learn to do that on all days though because the days just seem to go by smoother with a better attitude. My other goal was to eat right. And to admit that is the last thing I have been thinking of. I guess I do think about it I just never make the right choice. I really need to stop drinking pop. I think I would feel all around better about myself. I also want to try and stop eating after ten at night. I feel nothing good comes from eating that late. But, I am for sure going to cut back on pop starting today!

Quote

I totally agree with this quote. I believe that if you try and be someone else, what is the point of you yourself? I believe God gives every single person their own special identity. I do believe that you can look up to people though and try to model after someone. I firmly believe that trying to be someone else is a waste of time. I feel my time would be consumed with trying to something I was not. I feel that I would be so worried on what I was trying to be instead of what I could be. I myself have personal role models. Somebody is always smarter, more mature or more knowlegable than yourself, so I believe that you can listen and take advise from those people. Be yourself instead of a copy!
